The Gilbreths held the Grand Opening of their first children's furniture and accessories location in Algonquin, IL, during late summer of 2003. After raising three children of their own, they realized the importance of making a child's room unique and special; a place where memories will be formed to last a lifetime. In the fall of 2007, they relocated their location to a larger store in 2007 to better serve their customers. The new store more than triples the showroom space and provides the most unique offerings of children's furniture, gifts and accessories in the Chicagoland area.

When I was a teenager, I worked at Georgia’s original Baby’s Room location in East Cobb on the weekends and after school. It was then and there that I fell in love with the idea of owning my own store. The dream of a father and son became a reality in the summer of 1994 with the opening of Wells Home Furnishings. At the time, the building allowed for 15,000 square feet of showroom space. After 2 major additions and renovations to the inside and outside of the building, Wells Home Furnishings now boasts 31,000 square feet of beautiful displays, showcasing over 50 brands of furniture and home furnishing accessory lines.
The second addition/renovation project added 10,000 square feet and a total make-over to the outside of the building. Prior to this latest addition, Wells had been successful with Stanley Youth, however the Signature Shop gave a whole new level of appeal to the merchandising of Youth Furniture.
